The Slate Privacy & Terms
Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to The Slate app (hereby referred to as "Application") for iOS devices, created by Jonathan Reed (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). This service is intended for use "AS IS".
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
The Application does not obtain any personal information when you download and use it. The only data collected is high-level App Store metrics, such as number of installs, daily active users, subscription numbers, etc. None of this is personally identifiable.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
No. The Service Provider is committed to high levels of privacy. No data is collected or shared with third parties.
Does the Service Provider know which talent I'm tracking?
No. All data regarding who you track, what you search for, which projects you view, your settings, and more is stored locally on your device.
What data DOES travel off the device?
Your list of favourites and settings is stored remotely and securely in iCloud – if you enable the setting. To opt out of this, make sure the function is turned off in settings. Additionally, your search queries are sent securely to the TMDB API, which returns search results to you. Only the search term (such as 'Edgar Wright') travels off-device and is not identifiable to you.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. However, since the Application does not collect any information, there is no risk of your data being accessed by unauthorised individuals.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to their Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of February 16th, 2026.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
